Revgear Fighters Reign Supreme At Made4TheCage

Richy Knox

Whilst the UFC event in London produced 9 decisions at the other end of the country Made4TheCage put on a fantastic show with 11 finishes and only 2 fights going the distance.

Andrew Punshon

First up out of the Revgear fighters was Andrew “The Predator” Punshon (12-7-0) who took on Stuart Tyrie (6-6-0) in a Middleweight tilt. Fighting mere miles from his hometown Punshon, walked out to the cheers of his loud and excited support. As the fight started both men did not have to go looking for each other, they met in the centre of the cage and began swinging, heavy hands. Punshon tagged Tyrie with a hard punch dropping the Welshman, from there Punshon worked from inside Tyrie’s guard unleashing a torrent of ground and pound, whilst making sure he stayed out of any triangles, as Tyrie actively looked for submissions off his back. Punshon saw an opening and passed guard from there he worked his way to a fully mounted guillotine. He didn’t let go and cranked the guillotine until the referee stopped the fight at 3 minutes and 57 seconds into round 1.

Rab Truesdale  vs. Richy Knox  for the European Light-Heavyweight Title

In the main event of the evening undefeated and fast rising UK star Richy “The Guv’nor” Knox (3-0-0) took on top 10 ranked UK LHW Rab “Baloo” Truesdale (6-3-1) for the Made4TheCage European LHW title. With all of the Guv’nor’s wins coming by first round submission Truesdale had a fair idea what to expect early on. Knox had mounted Truesdale within seconds of the fight starting. With Knox’s submission game full mount usually spells the beginning of the end. However Truesdale managed to work his way back to his feet and then fought to put Knox on his back and began hunting for a leg lock. Knox showed this was a bad idea, and that his BJJ is on another level, after working out of the leg lock Knox slapped on an armbar, having won all his fights by armbar and breaking a couple in the process, it looked like the fight was over, but Truesdale managed to battle his way out, unfortunately for him Knox had baited him into moving straight into a triangle. From there it was a few seconds before the referee was pulling the men apart as Knox won by triangle at 1:35 of round 1. Adding the Made4TheCage European LHW Title to his growing collection of belts.

Both fighters are sponsored by Revgear and www. fightstoremma.com the official European distributor of Revgear
