At the top of the bill of Eiko4 sees the return of Newcastle’s own Peter Irving in a Professional K-1 match up.  You may remember Peter from Eiko2 where he stopped young German fighter Danijel Solaja in a highly entertaining K-1 bout.


Peter is one of the top fighters in Europe, He has a long career in MMA and K-1 and has he has held titles in both; he’s the current reigning UCMMA UK-1 Welterweight champion and is the ICO Super-Middleweight K-1 Champion.

An international fighter, Pete’s most recent bouts have taken place at the Moscow arena on W-5, at the Estonian national Martial Arts games in Tallinn, and at London’s historic York Hall against Sweden’s Jafar Mukri.

During his decade long MMA career, Pete was 2-time Strike & Submit British Champion, 2-Time Strike & Submit European Champion and a 3-time Tenth Legion European MMA Champion, defeating current M-1 world champion Daniel Weichel and current UFC fighter Reza ‘Maddog’ Madadi. Pete has fought in the U.S., and headlined Belgium’s first ever professional MMA event Belgium Beatdown.

Peter was schooled in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu during years of training in Brazil, and holds a black belt under 4x world champion Leo Negao.

Peter is not just a multiple title holder, he also oversees a network of gyms in the North East which are ran by his own students.  BJJ brown belt and European MMA champion Richy Knox oversees the Newcastle West end gym, housed within ‘Men at work’ weights gym. Cagewarriors fighters Tommy Quinn,and former Eiko headliner Ryan Roddy are the assistant coaches.


Sixth Sense Gym in South Shields is ran by BJJ purple belt and Cagewarriors signed pro MMA fighter Alex Enlund. British and European MMA champion Rob Mills runs Respect MMA in Gosforth.

In addition to these gyms, Peter works with other top North-East gyms giving seminars and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu grading’s, such as North-East Top Team, Andrew Fisher’s TFT and  Section 18.

The Main Event at Eikö4 sees Peter Irving battle Alex Ciolac in a 75kg Professonal K-1 match up in what is sure to be a top display of martial arts action. Be there May 5th at Club LQ in Newcastle to watch it all go down. Tickets are available from fighters, local outlets and online.
