Revgear 4 Man Tournament

Revgear sponsored Eiko 4’s four man MMA tournament, providing all the competitors with some of the best fight shorts available and the amateur style MMA gloves. The 4 fighters were competing to see who would leave with a Revgear sponsorship and a trip for a week’s training at Team Quest in Thailand.

4 amateur MMA fighters from Newcastle and the surrounding areas would go head to head to see who would win the first tournament of its kind in the UK in front of a packed crowd, full of local support for each contender.

Zelimhan Musostov in Full Mount

In the opening fight of the night Zelimhan Musostov the 22 year old Chechnyan fighting out of Combat Sports Newcastle took on late notice replacement Tom Russell. Musostov would control large portions of the fight with his superior grappling to take a unanimous decision win and advance to the final later on in the evening.

Steven Holmes Judo Throw

On the other side of the tournament David Thompson of Felling Warriors would take on Steven Holmes of Viper MMA, the impressive top control of Holmes would see him secure the decision, the highlight of the fight came with a beautiful judo throw by Holmes which scored big and allowed him to enact his punishing top game.

After 2 decisions, it was the final that delivered the fireworks. It took under 60 seconds for Musostov to secure a Rear Naked Choke on Holmes and take home the impressive prize, whilst adding 2 fights to his win column in one night. Whilst securing a trip to train at an amazing facility in Thailand with world class coaches, and get a sponsorship from one of the best technical fight gear companies in the world in Revgear.
